Plant Scheme
Overview
The MPQC Plant Operator Competency Scheme is managed by MP Awards on behalf of the Sector. The Scheme, which has been established since 1982, has a strong and well recognised brand that is valued across the Sector.
The MPQC Industry Training Standards form part of the MPQC Competency Scheme designed, administered and managed by the MP Awards Standards team within MPQC. The training standards developed are designed to ensure a consistent and high-quality training provision is available for use by any competent training provider to support employers in the training of their workforce.
MP Awards is responsible for providing the overall standards to be applied to the delivery and certification to improve the quality and robustness of the training available to industry. The Scheme covers skills, knowledge, and understanding and provides a structure and testing criteria that forms initial and renewal training.
These training standards are subject to continual review to ensure that they remain compliant with changes in legislation; technologies and working practices. MP Awards aims to keep all appropriate stakeholders up to date with any changes made to the Training Standards and will endeavour to ensure that all changes made are consulted through the appropriate channels.
